This trio took King West by storm on Tuesday nite at the advanced-beginner challenger (Niagara location). Jana (middle) had a wonderful run with 9 games won, securing her first BreakPoint title. Rachel took 5 & Steph nabbed 2.
Zhixiang,Tan & Heng Zhu know how to keep warm on cold November nite. Run & hit tennis balls is the answer! (of course in the comfort of the Lansdowne court) Tan walks away from the experience with a new slam dunk of a win. Cold air is much easier to tolerate with the weight of a medal around your neck.
In full court advanced-beginner action it was Anita that took the court by storm; following a 3 year hiatus from tennis. She didn't miss a beat and took the Nov 17th edition title. Wecome back Anita! Michael 5, Catherine 5, Anita 6
Dustin, Everett, Owen & Sofia duked out the teen challenger on Saturday morning at Crescent. Players weren’t afraid to challenge the umpire on line calls and rules interpretations - demonstrating increased confidence in this class format. In the end, Sophia won the medal with 10 games won. Congrats!
Despite 4 players registered for this challenger, it was only Chiara Zehnder that attended (maybe others got Taylor Swift tickets?). So it was Coach Hesh that delivered 1 on 1 games vs Chiara. She chipped & charged to victory in 2 games; and gaining a medal in the process.
It may have been cold outside tonight but inside was hot hot hot! All 3 players brought the heat in their last rookie challenger; as Coach Hesh has levelled them all up to the 1.5-2.0 division after their performance tonight. The Champion was Vienna 8; with Daniella & Fatmah at 5 & 3 respectively. Congrats to all 3.
BreakPoint favourites Stephanie Simmons & Shabnam Weber faced off against each other in a 2 player challenger. Despite the late evening start, these gals brought high energy into Withrow in an action packed match. Shabnam won 10-3.
Zhixiang Wang collects both a medal and a nod to "level up” to the next division, after taking 2 games off Coach Hesh in the rookie challenger on Nov 10 at Crescent. He covers a lot of court with quick feet & isn’t afraid to attack the net. Looking forward to seeing him in 1.5- 2.0 division.
Henry Lin collected 11 games in a 5 player/ 2 court challenger. Stephen Allen, Vakul Bhatia, Noam Pardo, & Vladyslav Dzhulai brought the heat but couldn’t eclipse Henry's "crush & crash“ style of play. Umpire Hesh & Umpire Dave really enjoyed this early morning crew of guys.
It’s always a treat when 4 players all show up to a challenger as it allows us to double the fun…by playing doubles. It was Busola, Christine, Audrey & Chris that participated in this event while Coach Dave & Coach Hesh guided players in positioning and tactics. In the end, Chris edged out the competition with 8 doubles games won. Congrats!
Raul Balfagon Abadias rising in the ranks with a Challenger medallion in the 2.0- 2.5 division. Raul
won with 10 games, chasing down balls with impressive footwork. Robert and Nathan both cruised close behind capturing 7 game each. Well played gents!
Cibelli came out on top with a decisive win, scoring 12 pts to take the challenger title. But let’s give a huge shoutout to our runner-up, Eunice, who picked up a racket for the first time today! Her powerful serve and sharp hand-eye coordination took her all the way to 10 points—a stunning debut! Tied for third, we had Cecilia and Joanna, both putting up a solid performance with 7 pts each.
Full house challenger! In a rare 4 player challenger; it was Amy D'Amboise that took the medal. She won by 6 games followed by Cibele 5 games , Francois 4 games and Sally 1 game (from left to right: Sally, Francois, Amy, Cibele). We‘ll be seeing Amy "toe her foot“ in an Advanced-Beginner Challanger this fall. Best of luck!
Rookie Challengers are awesome! Players are new to the sport and get to have a feel of what an actual match is like. The expectation is that the umpire (Coach) needs to help on every single point on where to stand and where the boundaries lie. Despite the rookie status, it was Aleksandr that demonstrated amazing serves that led him to a 5-3 victory over Mariia. Congrats to both players!
Davin Solek, Benjamin Leboeuf & Jonathan Tran went the distance on this special edition 90 min challenger. Of the 21 games played; Ben took 11; while Davin & Jonathan gathered 6 & 4 respectively. When only 3 players show up competitors play a continuous round robin - whereas if 4 players show up we shift into "doubles” mode. Great games to watch!
Lara is working her way up the ranks in the beginner 1.5- 2.0 circuit with a 12-4 victory over her counterpart, Tan. She exhibited solid groundstrokes and maintained a solid serve percentage in tonight’s challenger. Coaches foresee 2.0- 2.5 in the horizon for her, congrats!
Cade Moon grounds and pounds his way to the advanced title in this 3-way challenger. Cade won 9 games Andres won 7 games Neil won 3 games. In the challenger format, players are tossed the ball from the umpire; without having to pick up balls in between points. The result is tons of points played and fast games.

Victor Hsu takes the first Crescent indoor challenger of the season with a 7-4 win over Omar in the low intermediate division. The new champ came out of the gates fast with his adversary coming back & winning 3 straight. In the end it was my Victor pulling away at the end and claiming title.
News Flash: Rachel & Frank faced off against each other in first beginner indoor challenger at Clinton Street in little Italy. Along with Umpire Samuel, they decided to play two 4 game sets, Rachel taking both 4-1, 4-2. At the beginner level the umpire is heavily involved in coaching players on the rules and flow of match. We‘ll be seeing both players in the advanced-beginner soon.
Moving towards the upper levels; brings a whole new set of challenges…balancing unforced errors with winner-attempts and keeping double faults to a minimum. It was Zarak Mahmud that delivered on this… winning the challenger. He and Omar won 10 games each. In tie breaker Zarak won 3-0. Daniel won 4 games.
When only 1 player registers for a challenger; they have the luxury of taking on a fun spirited match vs a coach. Today it was Raul Balfagon Abadias that stepped up and pounded Coach Omar taking 4 games out of 14; winning him a medal. In the coaches meeting, BreakPoint put out the formal "level up” to Raul into the advanced-beginner level!
In the last weekend of outdoor at Harbord, Davin Solek takes the challenger medal with winning 17 points. Close behind was Loic at 16 pts, Omar 13 and Daniel 11. Davin demonstrated an all court game and showed both a combo of power and finesse. Congratulations!
The calendar says fall but the city weather says summer! Roberta Baker takes the stage on the beautiful Oct 5 afternoon at Harbord. Roberta won the challengers winning 9 games. Livia won 8, Daniel won 7 and Jenny won 4. congrats to all competitors!

In the end it was Adam collecting the deciding game and lead the pack with 6 games won and took home the loot!
Fresh off their recent suspension for "umpire abuse“, Alicja Heisig-Chiarello (right) & Amy D’Amboise (left) return to the tennis courts and compete in the Jon Ash Oct 3 challenger. Final results: Alicja (winner with 4 wins), Jaeeun (3 wins), Amy (3 wins) & Cecilia (2 wins).
Tim Zhou & Ian Li were the only ones to show u for what was to be a full 4-player challenger. Being friends, they opted to spend some time working on footwork and grip before jumping into the true challenger. In the end it was Tim Zhou (pictured) who beat his friend 5-1 and took home the medal. Congrats to both players.

What a whirlwind of a day at the challenger event! Idha strutted away with the crown, racking up a dazzling 9 points—talk about a white-out victory! F Sia vs Coach Omar. A strong forehand was attributed to F Sia winning two games and the title. It was reported that Coach Omar was air lifted via helicopter from court two to avoid media and declined comment on his defeat. Congrats F Sia on your challenger win!
In an electrifying showdown, Tim triumphed over Lis 10-9 in a nail-biting thriller! The match was a back-and-forth battle, filled with incredible rallies and tension. As the score tightened to 9-9, Tim unleashed a stunning ace to seal the victory. He celebrated his hard-earned challenger medal, proving that every point counts!
In a sizzling Toronto tennis Challenger match, Shabnam dominated with an impressive 11 points, while Stephanie managed just 1. The scorching heat made the game even tougher, but Shabnam's hot streak shone through as she effortlessly outplayed Stephanie. Despite the blazing conditions, Shabnam stayed cool and collected, making it a match to remember.
On a sizzling Sunday at the Harbord Challenger, Aline showcased some serious girl power with an 8-6 victory over Livia. Aline’s cool composure and fierce determination shone through. Girl power was definitely in full swing as Aline claimed her well-deserved win!
Shelton served up a tennis treat in the Sunday Challenger, smashing through Ozioma with a dazzling 11-1 victory! With shots so precise they could've been laser-guided, Shelton kept Ozioma on the run and left no doubt about who’s on top. Looks like Shelton’s game is in fantastic shape—watch out, next opponents!

Omar Hamid, Donna Yang & Gillian Chreptyk (in picture) faced off in a three way challenger in this Saturday morning event. The "step count” was extremely high and "unforced errors” were low. Donna made her challenger debut having almost show up on the scoreboard, leaving Omar winning a tiebreaker 7-6 over Gillian.
The trees were starting to to give us a variety of colours & the players giving us a variety of shot selection. Tim So (pictured) provided the biggest forehands of the day, however it was Omar Hamid that won 3 breakers with a classic 1 handed backhand. Sherry Chen won 2 and Tim had 1. Thanks everyone!
At the Harbord Challenger, Ziming leveled up with a commanding 6-0 victory over Gab. With an impressive display of skill and precision, Ziming made it look easy, proving that his game is on another level.
Alicja, all smiles in the photo, radiates joy after her hard-fought victory with a score of 7, while Aliza followed closely behind with 6. Neil gave it his all, earning 3 points. Alicja's win showcases her determination and skill, making it another exciting day on the court!
Challengers with only 2 players play games in a "1 v 1 format". In this NTRP 2.0-2.5 challenger, it was Roberta Baker declared champ on this gorgeous Sunday September afternoon. She collected 9 game wins; to Natasha’s 1. Despite a high differential in the game totals, the game scores were tight. Congrats.
August is now officially over and we turn the page to a new chapter of beautiful September weather. The first challenger of September went to Nikhil Tallapureddy! Nikhil won the Challenger with collecting 13 games, Bena Lands took 7 and Kevin Lei took 4.
Labour day Saturday for some folk meant hitting the courts for some fun spirited competition. With umpire Hesh at the officiating helm, this 3 player competition ended in a one point differential between the #1 & #2 spot. Final results:Omar Hamid 7 games, Jon Tran 6 games, Natasha Brahmachari 1 game. Nice work everyone!
Averey Averion vs Jora Shacter in a 2-Player Challenger on the last Friday nite of August. This long weekend fittingly commenced with long rallies between these 2 competitors. Ultimately, it was Jora that came out on top with 11 games to 4 games by the end of the hour. Happy long weekend!
And the results are in for the Friday nite Challenger edition hosting some recognizable regulars at the Harbord courts. 24 games were played thru the hour with Coach Omar taking the role of umpire/ ballperson/ scorekeeper: Nina Zahr 6, Omar Hamid 6, Grace Tian 2…however it was Zimin Wang winning 10 games that took home the medal!
The court was on fire as Cibele took a commanding win with a score of 8, Heath gave it her all but ended up with a score of 1. Meanwhile, Becka and Kathyl were neck and neck, each putting up a fantastic fight and both finishing strong with scores of 6.
Way to go, ladies—you owned the courts today!
He came. He challenged. He won. Seva Gumeniuk took this Riverdale Sunday challenger by a mere 1 game over second place Omar Hamid. Final results were Seva 6, Omar 5, Vanessa 4, Natasha 0. Attributed to his success was excellent footwork and low unforced errors.
Chris Robertson had no idea what a challenger was when he signed up; then he set a challenger record winning 17 games in 1 hour! Nora came runner up with 2 games. We're confident that BreakPoint will be seeing Chris tackle the advanced-beginner division soon, with his current rate of success.
This past weekend brought both hot weather & hot competition; as Omar Hamid eclipsed the competition in this three player challenger. Another fantastic August summer day! Final results were Lee 3, Omar 7 & Ahmed 2. Congrats to all competitors.
Shenali beat Mila 21-13 in an post rain-shower clash. Mila had a solid backhand but couldn’t muster the serve power of Shenali, leading to many returns going out. Shenali showed consistent groundstrokes that won her the match
In a tennis match featuring four players—Adam, Allie, Randy, and Amanda—Adam emerged victorious. Allie displayed strong forehand skills, while Randy struggled with numerous double-faults, which ultimately cost her the game. Amanda performed decently but couldn't match Adam's powerful shots. The final score was 14 points for Adam, 6 points each for Allie and Amanda, and 3 points for Randy.
Omar is leading the Challenger matches with a stunning 7-6 victory! Andrew put up a great fight, finishing with 6 points, while Angel gave it his all with a score of 3. With such a thrilling performance, Omar is proving to be a top contender on the court!
Marina brought her A-game and dominated the court, defeating Omar 10-4 to snag the Challenger medal! Her powerful play left no doubt about who was in charge. In the photo, Marina gives a big thumbs up, celebrating her awesome win with a well-earned smile. Way to go, Marina!

Gillian Chreptyk & Ziming Wang faced off against each other in a 1v1 Aug Long Weekend Super Saturday Challenger. Neither succumbed to the August heat and prevailed thru an afternoon scorcher. In the end, Gillian took the win 9-4. Congrats.
Theres no better way to kick start the long weekend than to collect a big "W” on the tennis court. Roberta Baker did just that in the four player "Long Weekend Super Saturday Challenger". Roberta completed the morning event winning 12 games, with Tanya & Diana collecting 8 & 2 games each.
In last night’s low intermediate challenger at Riverdale, Kathrin stormed through with 6 games, claiming the top spot, while Marina trailed closely with 5 games. Louisa fought hard with 3 games, but Kathrin’s winning streak was the highlight—though she was too shy for a victory photo op! The competition was fierce, but Kathrin let her racket do the talking!
Gab’s victory celebration says it all! After a thrilling 12-3 win against Angela in Monday’s challenger, Gab dropped to his knees in pure joy, medal in hand, and racket raised high. It was a match full of energy, heart, and sheer determination—Gab didn't just win, he conquered the court with style!
In a fierce showdown, Kieran emerged as the ultimate challenger, clinching 7 games and securing the top spot! Vinson gave it his all with 6 wins, while Chris and Lani put up a valiant fight, finishing with 4 and 3 victories respectively. The competition was intense, but Kieran ruled the court with unmatched skill!.
Livia Zufferli was the sole competitor in this 1v1 against Coach Omar. When only 1 competitor registers; the player competes against a coach with modified rules/ arrangements. In this challenger, Livia earned the medal by taking 2 games off Coach Omar.
Ziming Wang sliced and diced his way thru a 2 participant Friday nite challenger. In the hot July evening, Ziming won the challenger against Sherryn 12-2. Congratulations to u both players.
Heavy hitter, Xiang Wan, won the July 23rd edition of the 2.0-2.5 Harbord Challenger in fashion. By the end of the hour he won 15 games. His sparring opponents had a very respectable finish: Gab won 10 and Andrew won 6
Idha Khoudeida won the challenger, she won 8 games, Zoe won 5, cibele won 4, Patricia won 3. Coach Neel reported this challenger as having 20 shot rally‘s. Amazing for the ntrp 1.0-1.5 level. We‘ll be seeing Idha & Patricia in the ntrp 1.5-2.0 starting next week.
In an exciting challenger, 3 players—Lisa, Sammy, and Anqi—competed fiercely for a coveted medal. Anqi showcased remarkable passion and resilience, scoring 7 points, while Sammy put up a solid effort with 5 points. Ultimately, in a delightful display, Lisa clinched the medal with an impressive 21 points.
When only 1 player shows up for a challenger; they get to go "1 v 1" against the coach. So Dunja Ilic got to face Coach Hesh. The arrangement was; if she can take 3 games off our esteemed coach…then she gets the medal…the hour ended with Dunja taking home the evidence of her triumph. Congrats!
The rain stopped 30 min before this challenger; however, Sherry Chen was the only one to show up. And it turned out to be blue skies. When only 1 player shows the coach plays against the player. Sherry walluped Coach Hesh in 2 games. Leaving Coach Hesh in tears and Sherry with the medal.
Christian Delos Reyes & Marin Davidson deserve all the accolades that come with consistent serve practice. The duo spent much time working on their 3.0-4.0 level serve, however it was Christian that won the 1v1 challenger with a score of 6-1.
Steph Algieri, Karen Shearer and Nancy Kang know the importance of Deuce. 80% of this challenger went to Deuce; tho it was Nancy that persevered in the all important 7th point. Winning 13 games in total. Congrats to all competitors!
Coach Hesh was the umpire for this challenger. Was a very balanced group and results could have easily gone to any competitor. 60 ft blue lines and stage 2 balls were used. Catherine Motl won 6 (to the right). Barbara Chun, champion, won 7 games (centre). Jenn Liu won 3 games (to the left). Congrats to all competitors.
In a thrilling tennis match, Jeremy, Kevin, Randy, and Nima faced off in a competitive showdown. With all three-way tie at 11 pots at one stage, Jeremy capitalized on a series of double faults by his opponents and surged ahead, leading by 4 points. & his first-ever challenger victory.
This isn’t the "Tennis Edition of Charlie’s Angels", it’s the NTRP 1.5-2.0 Challenger on July 8. Reem Keleta (front) won the challenger winning 12 games, Rachel Dhingra (left most)won 6 games, Nicole Britton (right most) and Stephanie Algieri (second from right) won 4 games each.

In a thrilling tennis match, Zi Ming initially dominated with his powerful serve, quickly taking a 2-0 lead. Barbara mounted a strong comeback, evening the score at 2-2. However, Jimin regained control, leveraging his precise serve and powerful forehand to decisively win the match 6-2.
Viktoriya Sabat conquered the courts on the special edition Canada Day challenger 2.5-3.0 division. Viktoria won the challengers after winning 12 games, Caio won 8 games and Day won 3 games. Viktoria not only has an outstanding "all court” game, but she has exceptional footwork!
Fittingly, the player with the red racket wins the 2.0 - 2.5 Special Edition Canada Day Challenger. Taz Kapasi busted out 15 game wins over the course of the hour, while Andrei captured 7 & Shalv connected for 3. Happy Canada Day guys!
In an intense and thrilling tennis match, Roberta, Barbara & Renata battled fiercely. The tension was palpable as they exchanged shots and strategic plays. In a nail-biting finish, Barbara clinch the victory with a final tally of 22 pts. Meanwhile, Roberta & Renata ended the match with 20 & 5 points respectively.
In a highly anticipated Canada Day rookie Challenger, Farhan faced off against Michelle in a 1v1 . Both players, new to the competitive scene, showed their nerves early on until finding their rhythm. Farhan's powerful strokes began to dominate the rallies. securing his victory, earning him the medal.
Isabela Elena was the lone warrior in this challenger; so ended up playing Coach Neel for the duration of the player vs Coach challenger. Following a lengthy warmup, some drilling and a lengthy debate on format - Isabella took 2 games off Coach Neel landing her the loot. Congrats.
Diana Koval takes the podium again, this time winning the beginners challenger in less than optimal weather conditions. Regardless, she persevered thru and rising above the competition by accumulating 6 games. Her opponents, Kalsoom won 4 games and Karen won 2 games.

Joabe Ribeiro & Sophie Nie duked it out in this 1 v 1 challenger. Tight games were had with Sophie coming out on top 9-3 after 1 hour of play!
Winner of the June 27 challenger…drum roll please….Charlene Kutama with a best 2 out of 3 min match after a lesson…Charlene taking 2 of the 3 congrats! Highlighted by her coach, David Lee, was her strong footwork and ability to minimize her unforced errors when it counted!
Idha Khoudeida took the NTRP 1.0-1.5 level Challenger title following her collection of 10 game wins on Wednesday eve. After the official challenger segment, she was reported to have 2-2 tie in an unofficial playoff against Coach Neel & Barb (1 player vs 2 players…aka Aussie Doubles)
The Number 13 is associated with the divine, and is said to bring good luck and prosperity to those who embrace it; & Britt van der Donk definately embraced number 13 thru on Wednesday nite. Brit won the lower intermediate challenger by racking up 13 games, while competitors Selen won 6 games and Stephanie won 3 games.
Yasmin Hardan won the challenger, her and Cecelia won 8 games each and in tie break Yasmin won 3-1. Kathleen won 6 games and Paige won 2 games. Cecelia and Yasmin are best friends and they had to go against each other in the tie breaker. They are reported to still be bestie's despite the on court war.
In a rare 1 competitor challenger, Carmen Schoenmetz took 2 games off Coach David Lee in a 9-2 rumble… awarding her the medal! When only 1 competitor registers for a challenger, the coach plays a style of play within the students NTRP level; however in this case Carmen wanted Coach David to punish the ball!

In an intense tennis match, Iris Sina triumphed over Sarah Baird with a final score of 3-2. Iris initially dominated, taking a 2-0 lead and displaying strong momentum. However, as the sun emerged, so did Sarah's performance, Iris clinched victory at a nail-biting 30-40 in the final moments.
The Tues June 18th, 6- 7pm "Low Intermediate" Adult challenger was captured by Marina Schor with a 7 game victory collection. Respective opponents nabbed the following game wins:

Emma Eom became the 5th straight ladies challenger champ! This 'full house' challenger saw 4 competitors in action on a hot June evening. Emma won 8 games, Cleo and Kd won 6 games each; and Vera won 1 game. So Emma was declared champion of the event.
Competition doesn’t get any stiffer than the rumble between Mike Garisto & Joanna Gulas; as they face off against each other in yesterday’s highest level of challenger. The NTRP 4.0 - 5.0 dual took place at Harbord on June 14th, 2024.
Calling all male challenger winners?! Can we put an end to the female challenger winning streak? 4th straight female champ, Mira Konforovych, won 12 games, Emma won 8 games, Andrew won 7 games and Amanda won 3 games. With this win, Mira now moves up to the next level NTRP 2.0 - 2.5
Step a side guys...this week has been dominated by the gals! 3rd consecutive challenger win by "girl power" was captured by Mira Konforovych, who won the 1.5-2.0 challenger. Her and Sherryn won 6 games each and Mira won the tie breaker 3-1. Brad won 5 games and Yee won 1 game.
Hannah McCaig won the June 3rd NTRP 2.0-2.5 Challenger. She won 11 games, Yasmeen and Angela won 5 each. Hannah showed excellent shot selection and smooth footwork while capturing the gold medallion on a beauty June Monday evening.
This turned out to be a 1v1 challenger! Straight up Emma vs Sage for an hour long bout! The competitors sustained incredibly long rallies for their division; and Emma outlasted Sage 7/3 in this beginner level challenger!
Tim Zhang (middle) gave it his all...and did not disappoint the crowd as he pulled off a big win for today’s challenger with an impressive 14 games won to Teresa's 9 & Amani's 1. Looking forward to seeing him in the 1.5 - 2.0 division soon.

Louis on the left side vs. Emma on the right side. (only 2 players showed up of 4 registrants...so we did a 1 on 1 challenger) Louis won 7/3 and secured his first challenger medal . Bring on 2 more medals and Louis will have to challenge up.
Look out 2.0-2.5 division...here comes Nina! An inspiring performance by Nina Ghosn; as she attacked the competition fresh off the long weekend break. Nina won the May 21 Challenger with 11 games won, Emma won 6 and and Katrina won 3.
Charles Cayer (middle) dominated the 1.5-2.0 Challenger by winning 6 games. And a tight draw between Ziming and Erik with each of them winning 3 games. This is now Charles' 2nd Challenger win before hIs level up to 2.0-2.5 division. Congrats!
Peace Penzi captured the victory title on May 18th in a 3 player challenger. She and Ralph Bolo won 11 games each; then at the end of the hour they played a tie breaker to determine the victor. Peace won the breaker!!!!
Venessa Stott won 11 total games and dominated the challenger, persevering through a tough & previous NTRP champion opponent, Nina. Nina won 8 games and came in the second place and Scarlett came at 3rd place.

This is Challenger Champion, Nina Zahr, from the "Advanced-Beginner" (NTRP 2.0-2.5) event on Monday, May 13th. Nina won 4 games, while her competitors Liye, Livia & Angela each won 3. A tight race indeed.
In a full Challenger draw of 4 players, Charles Cayer finished1st after playing 2 full round robins. In this particular Challenger, players spent the first 20 min doing a review of rules & light coaching during warmup...afterwards, Charles won 1st, with a 5-3 record. Congrats!
In this Challenger, we had 6 competitors and 2 courts/2 umpires. Ralph Bolo (second from left in picture) won by dominating without losing any games. 2nd place Pratreek Sharma (far left) medaled with 9 games, third place we had a tie between Renee and Iris with 3 games each.
Deuce was on the loose; as Rebecca Lee & Nicole Wang faced off against each other in a tight battle involving muliple deuce riddled games. By the end of the hour Rebecca took home the hardware with a 5-3 result.
Dhaval Shownkani squeeked past Louisa Bai in a best of 3 matchup in this 1v1 Challenger. The number of Deuces was record breaking and worth a phone call to Guiness World Records.
Temperatures are rising at the same time as Viktoria Balioz's ranking. 2 more "Challenger" wins put her in the NTRP 2.0-2.5 level; as she won 6 games to Aidan's 4, Nikhil's won 5 and Elaine's 2.
Climbing the ranks in the upper levels, Joanna Gulas outlasted her opponents with 10 games won, Mai won 3 games and Nancy won 2 games.
Rising Star Alert: Mindy Loverin Clinches Beginner Challenger. There were 4 players at this challenger match. With 8 game wins to Brittany's (6) , Abbie's (5) & Lisa's (2)
Martin Czachor won his "Beginner Challenger". Martin played 3 sets (total 6 games in each set) of double games with round robin style.
He scored 5-1, 3-3, 4-2. And finished with won 12 games total with three different partners.
Skye Turriff moved up a division no less than 6 months ago into the 2.0- 2.5 category; and now wins her first challenger; with 8 game wins to Stephanie Hinton's (7) & Min Jung's (5)
Marcus Warren takes home the crown for this "High Intermediate Challenger". How did he do it? He managed to go 2-6, 1-2 against Coach Neel. 3 games off one of Toronto's finest deserves some loot.
The 1-2 combo of Sarah Quayyum (left) and Diana Koval (right) faced off against each other on the grounds of John Fisher. Diana was triumphant with 13 total games won to Sarah's 8.
Lauren Ball won the tournament with 15 points after a title fight with Martin 13 point in a mix of singles and Australian doubles matches that was filled with technical and mental games.
Champ - Ali Sutherland makes history as the only solar eclipse champ . There were 3 players at this challenger and they rotated thru the hour; Ali took home 6 games to win the gold.
Champ - Shuvam Roy (middle) takes the first outdoor challenger of the season. The players did an aussie challenger, 2pts if u win a singles game and 1pt if you win a doubles. Suvam won with 12 pts total.
Champ - Marina Shor (12 games won) takes home the gold in part of our indoor series of challengers. Coaches believe she will be making the jump to low-intermediate soon the way she's playing.
