P = Progressive tennis is a term used in the tennis world to describe changing elements of the game to make it more enjoyable. The first progressive ball was made in 1960; when a slower tennis ball was introduced for beginners; so new players could enjoy longer rallies. Higher level players used the same slower ball when working on a weaker aspect of their game; so they focused less on reaction time & more on technique. Progressive tennis is now endorsed by many tennis icons, including Roger Federer! Other progressive variables include; changing racquet sizes, different net of height & varying court boundaries.
A= Adults are stronger, hit harder, have longer strides & can cover more court than children. The progressive variables (ball speed, court boundaries etc) designed by PAC Tennis Assoc. with adult development in mind & are completely different from children progressive guidelines. Progressive guidelines for children involve lowering the net & using a more narrow court; due to their weaker ball striking ability and shorter stride. The PAC Tennis Assoc. guidelines never lower the net and utilize a wider playing area; due to a stronger ball striking ability and longer stride.
C = Competition provides tennis players with extremely healthy & addictive "feel good" adrenaline; however, adults are prone to avoid competition unless reassured they won't disappoint opponents. PAC Tennis Assoc. is dedicated to providing a structure so even a pure rookie can participate in competition without the worry of disappointing others. Helpful umpires that 'guide & teach' are keys to this success; coupled with a framework for competitors to routinely adjust their level; based on their most recent performance. Shorter competitions (Challengers) & longer events (Tournaments) are organized in such a way that regulates successful players to "level up" their division.
