Recent Challenger Winners

Martha won the Challengers after a close win against Katherine in tie breaker 3-2. Martha and Katherine were tied at 7 games each and Calvin and Melisa were tied at 4 games each 

Mann was able to win a challenger by winning 6 games of doubles and singles 

After some tips to improve forehand and backhand Ryland had a great performance to win the Challenger 🥇on this beautiful Monday night.

George was able to win an intermediate challenger by winning 8 games in a mix of double and singles 

 Emily won vs Hilary 10-3 in an exciting Sunday Challenger. Both the players were trying get the glory on a warm summer day.

Congratulations to Melisa for an outstanding performance, winning the 3.5 Challenger! Wishing you continued success.

Today at BreakPoint Club Harbord location, Mathew was able to win his first challenger with BreakPoint with 10 games. In a mix of singles and doubles play

Coming from Ireland Declan an Open Player was able to win against Coach Omar 6 - 4 and claim his first challenger and match in Canada with BreakPoint. 

Coach Luis noted that Chris gave him a good match. Congratulations to Chris for securing another victory.

What an intense and evenly matched low-intermediate challenger. 

After long rallies and tough points, Omar took home gold with his 14-3 win against Lisa.

Jen was able to win her challenger the same week Sinner was able to win Roland Garros. 

Sure it was a little more difficult for Sinner but a win is a win congratulations Jen.

 Elizabeth and Katherine brought incredible energy to the Challenger match! Both showed great court presence and powerful groundstrokes throughout.

 In a close contest, Katherine edged ahead with a 6–4 win. Wishing both players the very best for their upcoming matches! 

After a great performance, congratulations to Taylor for winning the 1.5 challenger at Riverdale.

The Adult Advanced-Beginner challenger featured some very competitive matches. 

We congratulate Salvatore who won the challenger by 1 game.

Jerome won the challenger winning 12 games. 

Rekha won 7 games, Chris won 6 games, and Chuhan won 4 games.

 A very intense low intermediate challenger. 

Where Nezar maintained his lead with a strong forehand and a consistent serve. 

Giorgia won the challenger at 6- 1. Her backhand game was too strong!

Great final match in the Advanced-Beginner Adult Challenger.

There were 7 deuces in the match. And Rahat won as a result.

We congratulate Rahat and his opponent Shenali and wish them continued success.

Big congrats to Marosh, his powerful forehand was unstoppable. Awesome match and energy all around!

Suzy was able to win a challenger against 2 other challenger medal holders in a very tight race. Milagros, Shenali , Suzy, and Sonia.

Lisa and Shirley played an exceptional challenger match today, and with the game ending in a tie, both of them emerged as well-deserved winners. Both players showcased impressive groundstrokes, and there was a noticeable improvement in their overhead serves since the last challenger. Wishing them both the very best for their future games!

After a tough match full with lengthy rallies and great net play, Darcy came out on top!

Coach Willem noted Chris’ improved serve technique in his pathway to winning another Challenger.  With knees dropping after his toss, Chris aced his way to another medal!

Jenifer won this intense intermediate challenger against Sherrryn 7/4 in a highly competitive match, I want to congratulate both of them for their commitment for the past year and levelling up with breakpoint one level after the other till they reached to that stage right now, keep working hard you’re both doing amazing

Chris was able to win another challenger this week with a solid and consistent ground strokes and a great match mindset

 Victoria earned a victory through her consistency, focus, and positive momentum. I mean, look at her backhand, the racquet is precisely located where it should hit the ball showing a perfect demotion of the movement. She is setting the bar high for the advanced-beginner sector. 

A huge congratulations to Lisa for winning today’s Challenger Championship! Both Lisa and Shirley brought incredible energy and powerful serves to the court. Well played, and keep the spirit high  

Sonia started with a solid warm-up and a quick review of the rules before stepping into her first Challenger match. She kept her cool throughout, hitting consistent forehands and limiting double faults. Her focus paid off—Sonia walked away with her very first Challenger medal! 

In a mixed singles and doubles challenger Armaan was able to win his first challenger by winning 7 games.

Chris came out on top in today’s low intermediate challenger at Riverdale!! Congratulations to our newest Breakpoint champion!!

P.S. Chris originally came from a cancelled social class — he transferred into this Challenger last minute and won it all!

In this ‘Luxury” Challenger, Coach Ehsan was 1 on 1 with the competitor. With only 1 player registered, the coach offers anything from playing our points to working on stroke mechanics. Jordan ultimately won this Challenger by improving his backhand slice! Congrats 

Congratulations to Gustavo on completing a Challenger match with Coach Shivya! He had a powerful serve, strong forehand trajectory, and excellent court coverage.
 

Congratulations to Chris for completing another challenger. Chris was excellent being able to adapt to various speeds, heights, and spin on the ball. Keep up the good work!

 

Huge congratulations to Rahat on an amazing job this Saturday may 17 at our Harbord courts by winning a challenger.
 

 Omar takes a challenger title in the 2.5 division against Ozioma. with a 8-4 result.  Congrats to both players. 

“Up and comer” Suraj takes a challenger title in the 2.0 division against Skye. Only 2 breaks separated the players with a 6-2 result.  Suraj is advancing to the 2.5 division. Congrats to both players and thanks to umpire Samuel.  

 After a 3 way tie between safi ,Omar, and jake . Jake was able to win this very exciting challenger by beating them each with a single point tie breaker. Saturday, April 19, 2025 at our harbourd location. 

 In a spirited Challenger match, Pratik faced off against Sherryn. With consistent baseline play and well-timed winners, Pratik took control and closed out the match with a convincing 4–1 victory. 

Congratulations to Jake on an impressive 6-2 6-1 victory in Sundays challenger. Jake displayed the ability to mix in some slices and heavy topspin to keep his opponent, Khalid, off balance. Great work!

Congratulations to Vadym with an impressive showing in today’s challenger. Vadym put on an excellent display of aggressiveness along with consistency to take home the medal 

Congratulations to Satinder for taking home the medal in her very first Challenger event. Satinder was able to come up with timely serves and consistent play throughout the round robin resulting in two victories!

G (far right) had her hands full as this challenger brought together two "March 2025 challenger champs" of Amy (far left) and Lara (2nd from right). However, it was Alicja that took the title in this highly superstitious & somewhat cursed event. Noted was Alicja‘s dominant net play as she jousted her way to 7 games won over Amy at 5, G with 4, Lara at 2. 

Everett was able to win his first challenger with BreakPoint today Mar 22 congratulations to our future champ.

In a tough challenger Lara was able to win by a golden point as she was tied with Sherryn at 5 games each

Amy claiming her medal winning two games from Coach Hesh in a low-intermediate challenger

Jen delivered a dominant performance last night, defeating Mariela 12-3 with sharp shot placement and strong court control. Mariela put up a fight, but Jen’s consistency proved too much. A solid win—well played, ladies! 

This “deuce filled” challenger came down to the very last golden point; with Amy collecting 6 games to Rahats 5 & Peters 3.  Congrats to the 3 competitors on an hour that saw some incredible serving.

In an exciting challenger competition Kenneth Corts was able to secure a last minute win by winning 7 games against his closest opponent who won  (6games). In a mix of singles and double roun Robin challenger feb 24 monday. 

Wes took the top spot with 11 points, Ash put up a strong fight with 6, and Sheryn gave it her all with 1. All smiles from the players—it was a great match filled with energy and sportsmanship! 

On February 9, as the Super Bowl captivated fans everywhere, Sanjay pulled off a thrilling 8-6 victory over Chris in a hard-fought challenger match

Rowan won his first junior challenger with BreakPoint ,8 February, by winning 6 singles games 

Toshi was able to win today's challenger by winning 8 games in a close game of doubles and singles where the runner up Seheong won 7 games 

Davin was able to win 8 games in a mix of doubles and singles in our challenger low- intermediate level in a very intense competition. Congratulations Davin

Due to illness, Iris was the lone soldier to show up to this "challenger". It was reported by Coach Hesh that she won 4 of 14 games. Spectators, however, reported her winning all 14. Either way - Iris is now top "advanced-beginner" player & is now welcome to play in the low intermediate division.

Hanna was able to win a challenger by winning 10 games and was also able to reach a higher division.  Great progress

Ebrahim was able to win his first challenger by winning 10 games in a mix of doubles and singles at our Crescent School Field House location

Leo was able to gain his first challenger medal today Jan 10 in an exciting competition , taking down both Clara and Eunice. All eyes will be on Leo as he prepares for his next challenger

Stace won his first challenger with BreakPoint Tennis Club with 8 games of a mix of doubles and singles game by a single point against his closer competitor seb and 2 runner ups who made things more exciting Megan and Aron.
